可持续发展是建立在社会、经济、人口、资源、环境相互协调的基础上,既满足当代人的需求,又不对后代人满足其需求的能力构成危害的发展。它们是一个密不可分的系统,既要达到发展经济的目的,又要保护好人类赖以生存的大气、淡水、海洋、土地和森林等自然资源和环境,使子孙后代能够永续发展和安居乐业。

无数的社会学家、经济学家、环境学家在可持续发展领域进行着不懈的研究。本期活动中,我们很荣幸邀请到美国马里兰大学Klaus Hubacek教授、日本名古屋大学薛进军教授及中国北京师范大学陈彬教授三位国际著名学者分享他们在此领域各自的观点与见解。

主讲嘉宾:Dr. Klaus Hubacek, Professor of University of Maryland

主题:Local to Global:Economic and Environmental Trade-offs Towards a Low Carbon Future

内容摘要:

In today’s globalizedworld, national, regional, and local economies are deeply embedded in globalsupply-chains. Globally distributed production activities are key driversbehind environmental change imposing stress on ecosystems across spatialscales. To analyze those changes across global supply chains, we needintegrated approaches that allow to better anticipate unintended consequences,assess co-benefits and trade-offs between different environmental resourcesover space and time as well as consideration of potential social and economicimpacts of resource management decisions. An economy-wide systems approach suchas multi-regional environmental input-output analysis does not only allow toilluminate these ultimate drivers within a region but also along global supplychains. In addition, this framework allows exploring socio-economicconsequences and trade-offs. We will apply this framework to the topic ofcarbon inequality and show how to creatively link diverse datasets to estimatethe effects of our consumption choices throughout global supply chains.

嘉宾简介:

Dr. Klaus Hubacekis an ecological economist with a research focus on conceptualizing andmodeling the interactions between human and environmental systems. Klaus haspublished over 200 research articles on topics such as climate changeadaptation and mitigation, participatory modeling, management of ecosystemsservices, land use change and governance. He has published in internationaljournals such as Nature, Nature Climate Change, Nature Sustainability, and theProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. His research was showcased innational and international news outlets including ScienceNews, The Guardian, LeMonde, New Scientist, CBS, the German TV and Radio, and the BBC. He conductedstudies for a number of national agencies in Austria, the Czech Republic,China, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the U.S. and international institutions suchas the European Commission, the Inter-American Development Bank, the OECD, andthe World Bank. He served on advisory boards for a number of agencies such asthe Climate Center of the City of Shanghai, China and the Sustainable Land Useprogram of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Klaus alsoserves on the editorial board of a number of scientific journals such asApplied Energy and Industrial Ecology. Currently, he is a lead author for theupcoming 6th Assessment Report of the IPCC, Workgroup III.

主讲嘉宾:薛进军博士, Professor of Nagoya University

主题:Energy Restructuring inChina

内容摘要:

China is thelargest emitter of greenhouse gas (GHG) and the largest pollution source in theworld. Tracing China’s emissions in global value chains, we find that theCoal-based Energy Structure is the main source initiated the high emissions ofpollutant and GHG; meanwhile, we find evidence of a positive correlationshipbetween coal consumption and pollutant emissions such as SO2.

China has beentrying hard to change its energy structure through importing natural gas anddeveloping renewal energy, and as last reached its coal peak in 2013. RecentlyChina projects in its 13th 5-year plan to reduce the share of coal from thecurrent level of 68% to 62%, increase renewal energy to 15% and reduce the mainpollutant emissions by 10-15% by 2020, however, even though the plane isambitious, there will be no fundamental change of the Coal-based EnergyStructure in medium term and the high-carbon and high-pollution economy will becontinued for decades.

To solve theemission issue fundamentally, we suggest conduct a relatively radical energyreform by setting up a higher reduction target of coal consumption and levy acarbon tax. To guarantee the reform, the timetable of achieving carbonemissions peak should be ahead of schedule of 2030; In conclusion, China needsto combine climate change policy and environmental policy in order to realize agreen, low-carbon development.

嘉宾简介:

Dr. Jinjun Xue isa professor of Economic Research Center, Nagoya University, Japan, andCo-director of Institute of Global Low-carbon Economy. He also serves as aguest researcher at Energy Research Institute of the National Development andReform Commission of China, adjunct professor at School of Contemporary ChinaStudies of Tsinghua University, Chief Scientist at Hubei CollaborativeInnovation Center for Carbon Emissions Trading and so on. He published about100 papers in academic journals such as Science, Energy Economics, AppliedEnergy, Social Sciences in China, Economic Research Journal etc. in English,Chinese and Japanese. He also serves as a guest editor for the journals ofApplied Energy, Singapore Economic Review etc.

He is one of theauthors of China’s first textbook “Development Economics”, the first personpublished the book entitled “Low Carbon Economics”, one of the founders of theinstitute firstly named after the “Low-carbon Economy”. He was also one of thescholars who advocated China’s implementation of export-led economic growthmodel, first person proposed the low-carbon development geese model andactively participated in China’s low-carbon urban design and carbon marketconstruction.

主讲嘉宾:陈彬博士, 北京师范大学环境学院教授

主题:城市系统能-水耦合研究

内容摘要:

城市发展需要消耗大量的能源与水。社会经济部门之间的复杂经济活动使得能源与水资源形成了相互依赖和制约的密切关系。本研究采用生态网络分析方法,对能源和水资源在获取、供应、运输、使用和废物处理方面的纽结(NEXUS)关系进行探讨,分析部门间的耦合控制、依赖和效用关系,量化纽结效应对能源消费和水耗的影响,进而为城市能源-水协同管理提供依据。

嘉宾简介:

陈彬(1972-),男,现任北京师范大学环境学院教授,博士生导师,学术委员会副主任。国家杰出青年科学基金获得者。长期从事能源与环境管理方面的教学科研工作,主持了一系列科研课题,包括国家重点研发计划课题、863计划重大项目子课题、国家科技支撑课题、新世纪优秀人才支持计划、美国能源基金会课题等。在SCI期刊共发表论文200余篇,其中1区top期刊论文100余篇。SCI论文H指数为42。正面他引4000余次。获得专利授权10项,软件著作权10项。担任10余个英文期刊主编、副主编和编委。

绿色金融与新能源投融资创新大讲堂简介

“绿色金融与新能源投融资创新大讲堂”,由华中科技大学中欧绿色能源金融研究所主办,巴曙松教授具体推动组织。大讲堂作为研究所重要专业交流平台之一,希望能把握全球和中国绿色发展的大趋势大战略,促进绿色能源金融领域行业内外交流及促进“技术”与“资本”创新合作,特别是通过邀请业界杰出人士为华中地区相关领域学者与机构、高校学生讲授绿色金融与新能源领域的前沿理论知识与实践经验,促进决策者、学界和业界的交流,努力将此大讲堂打造为覆盖绿色金融全产业链不同环节的国际化的高端专业交流合作平台。

巴曙松教授本科就读于华中科大能源学院,目前一直从事金融理论与政策的研究,一直关注绿色金融与新能源领域的发展,他作为资深的金融学家,曾担任中共中央政治局集体学习主讲专家。他的研究方向为金融机构风险管理与金融市场监管、货币政策及资产管理行业发展,持续十多年跟踪研究巴塞尔新资本协议、资产管理行业发展等,研究成果处于行业领先地位。他主持了一系列重大课题的研究,并在国内外一流专业期刊发表论文多篇。
