1、for the love of God

An oath of shock, exasperation, annoyance, frustration, or anger.

一种咒骂,出于震惊、恼怒、烦恼、挫折或愤怒。“看在上帝的份上”,是不是很熟悉(????? ??),译制片里常常能听到哦!

e.g. For the love of God, I didn't even see that car coming!

我的老天,我压根儿没看到那辆车来了!

e.g. Would you let me finish my story, for the love of God?

你能让我完成我的报道吗,看在上帝的份上?

e.g. Oh for the love of God, I just had the car fixed and now you’ve put a dent in it!

哦看在上帝的份上,我才把车修好,而现在你就在上面撞了一个坑!

2、love me, love my dog

If you love someone, you should accept everything and everyone that the person loves.

如果你爱一个人,你就要接受那个人所爱的所有事物和所有人。也就是我们说的“爱屋及乌”啦~

A: I wish you’d keep your dog out of the house when I come over.

A:我希望在我过来的时候你能把你的狗放在屋子外。

B: Love me, love my dog.

B:爱我,就要爱我的狗。(爱屋及乌)

e.g. Most of Alice's friends didn’t like her sister, but they accepted her because Alice insisted, "Love me, love my dog.”

3、love begets love

If you behave lovingly to other people, they will behave lovingly to you.

Under any circumstances. Usually used in negative sentences

7、love-hate relationship

a relationship of any kind that involves both devotion and hatred.

任何一种同时包含奉献和憎恨的关系。“爱恨交加的关系”

e.g. Since then, I have a love-hate relationship with her.

e.g. Most people admit to having a love-hate relationship with the TV.

8、head over heels in love (with someone)

very much in love with someone.

A constant need or yearning for love.

10、puppy love

mild infatuation; infatuation as in a crush. (Used especially of adolescent relationships.)

e.g. Look at them together. It may be puppy love, but it looks wonderful.
