What do you think are the characteristics and advantages of the international students?

Chris Carpenter：我认为最适合出国旅行和学习的学生，是那些想要去国外深造，并且在国外深造的过程中能获得更好的机会的学生。我认为没有必然的优势和劣势。这仅仅是为了学生们获得最大的成功找到的最适合的方式。

I think the students who are best suit for international travel and study, are those students who desire to go overseas and also those students who can find more opportunities overseas. I don’t know if there are necessarily advantages and disadvantages. It’s just a matter of what’s most suitable for the student to find the most success.

腾讯教育：在应试教育和素质教育的结合当中，您认为怎样才能平衡，培养出一个国际化的人才？

How to combine exam-oriented education and quality education to produce talents in line with the international development?

Chris Carpenter：我认为在这种情况下，作为老师，我们能结合两种领域中最好的部分。我们能给学生提供强有力的课程体系，不仅可以帮助他们应对考试，而且使他们成为全面的知识渊博的公民。同时，我们能给他们提供考试以外的平台，例如：小组协作、有创造性的解决问题。

I think in this case, we as teachers, we can combine the best of both worlds. We can give the students a strong curriculum that helps prepare them for the exams, as well as just helps them to be just well rounded, knowledgeable people. At the same time, we can give them opportunities outside of the exams, such as collaborative group work, and creative problem solving activities.
